Harisinh Chauhan, MVSc, DVM
Dr. Chauhan was born in India and grew up on a farm raising and caring for animals which sparked his love for the profession. He graduated with distinction from Gugarat Veterinary College in India in 1969. He then joined the faculty in the department of Microbiology as a research associate. After earning his Masters degree in Veterinary Microbilology from the Indian Vet-Research Institute in 1973 he continued with Veterinary school, in a different capacity, as a lecturer, Assistant Professor, and Principal of the Animal Health Tech School. He immigrated to the United States in October of 1979 and worked as a Veterinary Technician before receiving his D.V.M. license in 1983. After a brief period of work in the Los Angeles area, he bought the Animal Care Vet Clinic in San Bernardino in 1984. In 22 years he built up a very successful large facility. After many years of dedicated work, he decided to slow down and sold the practice in 2006. He continued working part-time in the same location until 2009. Because work is one of his passions, he decided to go back into full time practice. Thus East Valley Pet Hospital was established in August 2009. Following a long held vision he created a most idealistic place for pets and their owners in his new location. Apart from his work, Dr Chauhan loves traveling, family and social activities, along with charitable work being among his favorite activities. Dr. Chauhan has two daughters, and three grandkids.

Mama Cat
Mama Cat has had a rough life. Living on the streets as a single mom wasn't easy. Rainy, cold nights and running around looking for food was how she spent her days.  The staff at East Valley Pet Hospital spotted her and wanted to befriend her.  We brought her into the facility, tested her for FELV & FIV (which turned out negative) and she was spayed. Now she has found a wonderful home along the EVPH family. Well fed, loved and taken care of she has now known just what love and compassion can do for a street cat.  Once in a while you will see her outside with her son, whom like most teenagers, is a rebel. If you notice Mama Cat's ears you will see that, because she is a light colored cat, she has a form of skin cancer but is being well taken care of. So if you stop in and would like to see this little fuzzy part of our East Valley Pet Hospital family, just ask, we'll bug her to come out and say Hi.
